Your Ancestry from Russian Empire

Let’s uncover your Russian Empire roots together.

Do you have a great-great-grandfather who served in the Tsar’s army? A grandmother born in a shtetl in the Pale of Settlement? Or maybe you’ve found a mysterious place name like “gubernia Kijowska” and don’t know where to look next?

I specialize in helping family historians navigate the complexities of Russian Empire records – from metric books and revision lists to noble genealogies and military files.

🔍 I can help you with:

  • Identifying the right archives (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vilnius, Kyiv, and more)
  • Reading and understanding Cyrillic documents
  • Tracing ancestors across shifting borders (Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Baltics, Finland)
  • Breaking through brick walls using JewishGen, FamilySearch, and Russian-language databases

📍 Wherever your ancestors called home – even if it’s no longer on today’s map – I’d love to hear your story.
